Foster City Wedding Photography | Judith and Rich

It was a perfect day at the Recreation Center in Foster City. The sun was shining, the weather was glorious, and Judith and Rich were about to get married.

What can I say about Judith and Rich? These two were meant for each other. I love the way they make each other laugh, cracking up about some inside joke the rest of us aren’t privy to. During the ceremony, the pastor mentioned that while they are a little older than the average newlyweds, neither one of them had been married before – both were waiting for just the right person to come their way. I love stories like this – what an honor to photograph such an event!I’m so glad for you, Judith and Rich! So glad that you found each other, and have set out on this new adventure together.

San Jose Wedding Photography | Claudia and Blake’s Engagement

One of the best things about California is the vast array of beautiful locations for photo shoots. In the spring, orchards all around the South and East San Francisco Bay Area burst into bloom, and Claudia, Blake and I decided that one of those orchards would be a perfect location for their engagement shoot. This particular orchard in Saratoga is full of, amongst others, blooming apricot trees. We put together a little apricot-themed picnic to honor the trees around us – we had dried apricots, apricot preserves, apricot juice, and green and apricot-colored details to pull it all together. The beautiful vintage chairs are Claudia’s heirlooms, and the adorable lunch box suited them because they have known each other since they were kids. These two are so easy-going and fun to be around, you can just tell they have a great time together.

I am super excited to photograph their wedding later this week!

Personal Post : Biking from Monterey to SLO

Well, it’s time for another personal photo blog! Seany (the hubby) and I love to do all sorts of out-doorsy sporty things, and that includes bike touring. For those who don’t know, bike touring is like backpacking, but with bikes. You bring everything you need for camping and life and bike away. We’ve slowly over the course of several short trips been chipping away at the west coast. This past week we did the long-anticipated Monterey to San Luis Obispo bit, which includes the incredibly gorgeous Big Sur portion of the coast.

It. Was. AWESOME.

Perfect weather the whole way, and all the triathlon training we’ve been doing has certainly prepared us for this trip. Enough talk, here’s some Californian eye candy. Oh, and there might be a couple shots of us in there too :0)

The other day I met up with these two on a beautiful but windy day in San Jose. We wandered around the San Jose State University campus, enjoying the lovely old architecture and getting these fun engagement shots. They met several years ago when Sarah was an undergrad there – between that and their love of old buildings, the campus was a great fit. Thanks for being easy-going and awesome, guys – I’m so looking forward to your wedding in October!

Oh, where should I start? Jenelle and I have been best friends since we met in high school. We dealt with high school relationship dramas together, we met our respective husbands in the same year, were in each other’s weddings - it has been such a joy to have a friend to share those milestones with. And here is her biggest milestone yet – a baby girl-to-be. There isn’t much more I can say – I’m so happy for you two :0). Looking forward to those family pics in a couple months! Love you guys!

Ok, first off I have to say, this was one of my favorite engagement shoots ever. But then again, I’m biased, because I’ve been good friends with Eric since freshman year of college, and it has been so fun watching him fall in love with Sharon. They are so cute, so goofy, so perfect together. And they made the shoot even better by being super easy-going, fun and cuddly in front of the camera. We were all set for a beach shoot, but when we got there we found the whole area to be completely fogged in. I love shooting in the fog, so I was excited -

it makes everything feel so timeless and magical.

San Jose Wedding Photography | Van and Luke Part 1

I’m back from my brief blogging hiatus, and boy do I have some fun things to share! First up is this super fun, pink, funky, quirky and all-around beautiful wedding. This wedding was a special honor for me as I have known Van for many years now – she and I were roommates in college, and I am so glad we’ve remained good friends over the years! She and Luke met online and bonded over their mutual nerdy passions. It has been great to watch their relationship grow, and I’m so glad they chose me to be their wedding photographer! It was only fitting that their wedding had a nerdy theme, including lots of Mario Bros. imagery, but still keeping a level of beauty and class. I couldn’t limit it to just one post, so look for part 2 coming up.

I love you guys, and I am so happy for you! Congrats!
