Venue Spotlight | Sonoma Wedding Venue | Cornerstone Sonoma

It’s venue spotlight time! Today I want to share with you some images from my wonderful visit with the quintessential Sonoma wedding venue: Cornerstone Sonoma. If you’ve ever driven up 121, you’ve seen the iconic orange lounge chairs of Sunset Magazine, and if you’re anything like me, you’ve been tempted to stop in and see what it’s all about. And you absolutely should. In addition to being the home of Sunset Magazine – where they host an outdoor test kitchen for demonstrations featuring some gorgeous details like the Urban Kitchen rose gold flatware etc., – and a beautiful garden overflowing with flowers and veggies and innovative ideas – there is also an area of adorable shops, wine tasting rooms and restaurants for visitors to enjoy. Finally, and the main reason for my long-awaited visit, there are two main areas which serve as wedding and event venues: The Barn at Tyge William Cellars (which I wrote about when I went to their opening showcase) and the space known as Cornerstone Sonoma itself.

I had never been to the Cornerstone Sonoma venue, and I didn’t know quite what to expect. When Michelle, the Director of Sales at the venue, started showing me around, what impressed me most off the bat was the variety of options they have available. It was a lot of space, but split up into different unique vignettes, each providing a special ambiance all it’s own. And it just kept going and going! First we walked through a tented area, idea for outdoor sit-down dinners, cocktail hours and dance floors. Then, after passing by a super unique art installation (tons of art everywhere!), we walked into a really cool open lawn with vineyard views on one side and an amazing lily pond on another. Something about this area had a distinctly European vibe to me – must have been the lilies! Instant Monet associations there. And then – a barn! Open space out front, and room inside for dancing and partying the night away. Finally, I couldn’t resist taking a peek at the stores and Sunset Garden. Basically, whatever your style – whether it be classic European vineyard or charming rustic barn with an elegant flair, you can get it at Cornerstone Sonoma. And, a bonus, when you visit your venue while planning your big day, you can shop for some beautiful decor details, taste some wine, and sit down for a delicious lunch or dinner. Sonoma, you never disappoint!
