There’s nothing I like photographing more than emotional moments at beautiful weddings, and for this Lauren and Jonathan’s Saratoga Springs wedding was perfection. You could tell that in spite of whatever stress wedding planning might have caused, it was all pushed away when Lauren and Jonathan prepared to see each other during their first look. The magical redwood forest setting was perfect, and after a few tears and laughs of joy, we got to do a few portraits of them in the beautiful space. Since it was a weekday wedding, we had the run of Saratoga Springs for portraits and really tried to take advantage of the natural surroundings – they even braved clambering over some rocks to get into the river, to stand right where two rivers meet and become one. There’s some symbolism for ya! The ceremony was lovely, and not a dry eye in the house! After the delicious dinner and plenty of mingling, it was time for the first dance and father / daughter dance, both of which had me having to mop up my face while shooting. Finally, it was full party mode, with lots of dancing, beer pong, and s’mores. And who doesn’t love a sparkler farewell? Lauren and Jonathan, Congratulations! It has been such a pleasure getting to know you guys through this process – thanks for letting me be there on this special day :D.
