Carlie and Riley’s Nestldown wedding was about as close to fairytale as a real-life wedding gets. It was a beautiful day in the Santa Cruz mountains when Carlie and her bridesmaids and Riley and his groomsmen arrived at Nestldown for the last bit of their wedding preparations. We’ve had a chilly and damp winter, but spring had finally arrived with an incredible abundance of blooming flowers all over the Nestldown grounds. The day was crisp but not cold, with tufts of clouds and bits of sunshine. Between the beauty of the venue itself, the lovely spring day, and of course the excited buzz of a wedding day in the air, I half expected woodland creatures to come out and start singing ( if you’ve ever visited Nestldown, you know what I’m talking about).
After Carlie and Riley’s romantic first look, we went on to take some fun bridal party photos. At last it was time for the main event. The guests were in awe as they watched Carlie and Riley commit to each other in the natural ceremony chapel deep in a redwood grove. After the ceremony, the fun really took off with friends and family members laughing together in the green and flower-covered grounds. Delicious dinner, dancing, and general merry-making followed in the grand barn. It was just such a beautiful day of celebrating Carlie and Riley, their love, and their commitment to each other. And let’s face it – I loved photographing every bit of it. Congratulations guys – may this be just the beginning of your celebrations together!
