It was fun to be back on my home turf for Cassie and Keith’s Palo Alto engagement shoot. We started downtown Palo Alto, at a coffee shop where they had their first date. I loved the idea of going back to where it all started, and we were lucky enough to find an outdoor spot with some good light. It’s always fun to get some candids of people interacting, so I try to get some of those in at every engagement shoot. We then walked around downtown Palo Alto a bit, stopping by for ice cream (a favorite dessert of theirs) on the way back to our cars. Then we headed over to the Stanford dish – an iconic local hiking spot – for some golden hour in nature. Despite having lived in the area for nearly 15 years, I’d still never done this hike, so it was a fun excuse to finally do it! It’s a lovely spot with really pretty views in all directions – you’ve got Stanford and Palo Alto to the East and lovely green hills to the West. We snagged some evening light and even got a few shots with the Stanford dish in the background. I’m looking forward to documenting the big day with them this fall, but in the meanwhile – here are the engagement highlights :D.
