If I had to summarize K and C with one word, it would be “laughter”. I am finding more and more how much I enjoy working with joyful couples who make each other laugh, and K & C were no exception. Their Portola Valley Community Center wedding was on a cool day in May (since when is May chilly around here??) started with a first look and portrait time. The community center has some lovely natural backdrops and if I’m honest, I was pleasantly surprised with the whole space! We then did some more portraits with their *adorable* daughter (who, frankly, stole the show), their pup, and family. The ceremony followed in the cozy Redwood Grove with an intimate group of 50 guests. As always the benefits of the first look allowed everyone to enjoy the bulk of the cocktail hour (since most of the portraits were done beforehand) which included some gorgeous h’ordeuvres and a Samosa spread that looked and smelled (and in fact turned out to be) quite delicious. Dinner was served, followed by some pretty emotional toasts by the groom’s parents and the bride’s sister. Then came the first dance followed by party and dessert (which included an amazing liquid nitrogen ice cream bar!) Finally before taking off second shooter Nicole and I set up a night time portrait of K & C with the hall in the background looking much more like a high end wedding venue than a community center. Throughout the whole day, it seems, K & C did not stop laughing. With each other, with their family and friends, on the dance floor and off. If there’s a better way to start your marriage than that, I don’t know what it is. K&C – Congratulations on getting hitched! May this be just the beginning of the joy you share together :).
