For Tori and Anthony’s engagement shoot we ventured over to Henry Cowell State Park in Santa Cruz (well, technically, Felton, but close enough). I know it seems like this is the only place I do engagement shoots, but I swear it isn’t! It’s just a really really pretty spot, and this time we even managed to find some fall color. Plus, in the last few times, I’ve been there, it’s been full sunny, but this particular day we got some light overcast sky and it completely changed the forest. Even as a photographer, I am constantly surprised by how much a place can change with different lighting. In any case, we had a really fun time. I am normally all prepared to try to make my clients laugh at their engagement shoot, but I can honestly say I did very little of that with Tory and Anthony – they provided the laughter all on their own, and it was I that had a hard time keeping a straight face. It’s a joy to be around people who clearly enjoy each other's company and can make each other laugh so easily (yep, yet another one of the perks of my job :). We walked and chatted and snuck some pictures into the mix. The light, as I mentioned, was gorgeous, and the colors worked so well together to provide a really pretty fall palette. Tori and Anthony – it was so great to meet and get to know you a bit! Thanks for putting up with frigid river water and sticks in your hair ;). I’m so glad that you’re getting hitched!
