Nadja and Ozgur have a great love story (which I talked a bit about in their engagement session blog), and this joyful, lively wedding at Seascape Resort is it’s culmination. Folks flew in from all over to join in the celebration. The emotions were high, and I loved every minute of it! The day started with getting ready on-site – Nadja’s step-sister did her makeup, and her dad and stepmom were on site to share in the emotional time. They did a “first look” with her dad which was so sweet. Meanwhile, Ozgur got ready in a nearby room with some close friends.
Seascape Resort is huge and has a lot of beautiful spots for photos, but I think the bluffs overlooking the sea is definitely one of the best. That’s where we staged Nadja and Ozgur’s first look. They got to see each other and spend some time together before the ceremony. Then it was time for the main event! The ceremony was held overlooking the ocean and the aisle was covered in beautiful flowers. There were laughs and tears all around.
After the ceremony, we did some formal portraits (which I didn’t include in this blog because I had a hard enough time narrowing down my favorite photos! But rest assured, we took them 😉 ) while guests mingled at the cocktail hour. Then the whole party moved inside to the Riviera room, which was gorgeously decked out with beautiful florals (and that dessert table!). Dinner was had, followed by several hilarious and emotional toasts. And then the DANCING. Every once in a while I get to photograph a wedding where the party is where it’s at, and this was once of those times. I mean, all told these folks danced for 5 HOURS. The sheer stamina was impressive!
Partway into the dancing, Ozgur participated in a Brazilian tradition called “selling the tie” in which guests would pay him for bits of his tie. If they paid over a certain amount, he also had to take a shot with them. Suffice it to say, this is when the party really got started (and I was pretty amazed he was still upright afterward)! We did some portraits with Ozgur and Nadja after and then headed down to the beach for the continuation of the dance party! The coffee and dessert came down, as did the DJ. Fires were made, s’mores came out, and the party kept going. What. A. Blast.
Nadja and Ozgur – thanks so much for inviting me to celebrate with you! I’m so happy for you guys and excited for the years you have before you :D.
