The Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga is one of the grandest locations in the south bay. Comprised of hiking trails, formal gardens, a park, an arts center, and the Villa Montalvo mansion, it is a photographer’s paradise. So, of course, I was super excited when Kirsti and Doug decided to do their engagement shoot there!
Kirsti and Doug met at band camp, and describe themselves as, “We are basically an 80-year-old agoraphobic couple who likes to stay inside and watch movies” (which actually made me lol when I read it). You’d never guess, though, because they seemed to fit right in with the grandeur of the surroundings at Montalvo. They even looked like they saw the sun and interacted with other humans on a semi-regular basis! All kidding aside, we had a great time walking around and exploring the property and some of the cool art installations currently being shown there. I’m excited to photograph their wedding this fall, but for now, here are some of my favorite photos from their engagement session at Montalvo.
